Dominic founded Hambro Perks with Rupert Hambro CBE in 2013 with a shared vision of creating a firm to invest in game-changing companies with global ambitions. Dominic has built Hambro Perks from scratch attracting an international network of shareholders, a diverse group of sector experts who act as Venture Partners and a dedicated team of 20 professionals based in London.
Dominic serves as Chief Executive Officer and is a voting member and Chairman of the Adviser’s Investment Committee.
Hambro Perks has raised both permanent capital and has built an asset management business to deliver differentiated and distinctive investment strategies.
Dominic focuses on business development, originating and assessing new opportunities for investment and providing advice to our later-stage portfolio companies. Dominic’s business building skills and commitment to being a value-adding investor is central to the way the firm manages its assets. He as has been instrumental in bolstering boards, supporting management teams with advice and introducing strategic co-investors to a number of companies.
At Hambro Perks, Dominic has been responsible for originating many of its co-investments. He has been involved in all balance-sheet investments and he currently serves on the boards of Tempo, Takumi, The Dots and Rainmaking Venture Studios.
Dominic has an entrepreneurial background and, as a result, can provide support to management teams due to his own operational experience. He has founded and co-founded a number of portfolio companies which have scaled and exited. These include Takumi (social influencer marketplace) and Echo (digital pharmacy which was recently acquired by McKesson).
Prior to his entrepreneurial career, Dominic was a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Co where he advised clients on growth strategies including Microsoft, Orange, Goldman Sachs and BP. He was formerly an investment banker at Morgan Stanley where he primarily originated investment opportunities for private equity firms such as KKR, CVC and Apax. Dominic graduated from Oxford University with a first-class degree in English Literature.
